On Friday morning, Gerhard Schröder, Germany's Federal Chancellor, held a speech at the german parliament, in which he talked about the economic future in Germany. While I admit that the speech wasn't that great as it had been promised before, Schröder obviously presented more facts than he has ever done so far during his career as the head of the state.

But what really made me upset once again was the attitude of both the employers' representatives and the unions. Instead of trying to support the government in achieving a better economical future for Germany, they immediately started to claim: The employers' representatives claimed that the employers are disadvanteged in Schröder's plan, and as you might have already guessed, the unions claimed the same for the wage earners.

So in the end I expect that the government will not be able to make a better living for all of us, because both the employers, the unions and the opposition in the Bundestag will surely not join forces with them once again.
