I'm toying with the idea of buying one of those low-end scanners like the Canon 3000ex in order to scan my receipts, invoices and stuff like that. Right now they are filed away in folders, but having some sort of double bookkeeping (in folders and digitally) sounds intriguing.

However, only scanning the records and putting them in some directory on my hardisk doesn't seem to be the most ideal solution: What I'd prefer is a piece of software that let's me index them by date of receipt, value, drawer and other metadata. Ideally this software even comes with basic OCR capabilities so that I can easily mark the value, drawer address etc. on the preview image before scanning. This would not only save me a lot of typing, but would be plain cool, too.

Do you know any software that can do this? Please drop me a mail or leave a comment.
