Tod eines Kritikers: The Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung refused to publish a preview version of the book because it contained anti-semitism content in their eyes. Based on this refusal a long discussion about anti-semitism emerged in Germany. While this controversy is still going on, a eBook version of the book has been published and Martin Walser's publisher has sent a cease-and-desist letter to Jörg of Schockwellenreiter, who published a link to one of the eBook version in his weblog.
