Apart from the imminent danger for the civil population in Iraq, there is an enourmous danger for the UNO in the current situation. In the way in which the american government has ignored the United Nations, they have shown the world that a country can wage a war of aggression, without having to fear consequences from the most important organisation being. This has weakened the UNO enourmously and I fear that the behaviour of the U.S. will be a shining example for other countries when trying to legitimate a war. This does not have to apply to
rogue nationsonly: In my opionion the war on Iraq will not be the last aggression in America's attempt to
repacifythe middle east and George W. Bush will surely not ask the United Nations in the future, if he is allowed to attack another country in that region.
So to come to a conclusion: I actually do think that Saddam Hussein is one of the most terrible and cruel dictators that exist, but the way in which the american government tries to solve that problem, is plain wrong. I simply cannot accept that a government, which adulterates reports, intercepts representatives of the UNO and foreign governments and ignores the United Nations, reserves the right to wage a war.
Have they forgotten, against which kind of war their parents and grandparents have fought?
