My grandmother got me three James Bond movies on DVD for christmas. (How cool is that?) The first one I watched today was Dr. No, which is not only the first James Bond ever since, but also one of the best: Bond hunts the chinese criminal Dr. No, who has developed a nuclear-based system to lead NASA rockets astray, and finally disposes him in a (quite Bond-typical) showdown.
Despite the fact that this is the first Bond movie, all the cool characters and gadgets, which show up in the other movies as well, are introduced during the film: M, Miss Moneypenny, Felix Leiter, the Bond girls, Vokda Martini and the Walther PPK.
However I'm wondering how much hullabaloo the performance of Ursula Andress caused 41 years ago: In one scene (right after getting decontaminated on Dr. No's island) she is stark-naked and she mostly wears some bikini thingie in the rest of the movie. Surely this isn't a problem nowadays, but I can imagine that it probably caused some rumors back in the sixties.
To come to an end (I don't really feel like writing a complete movie review), this movie is definitively worth your time.
