This morning I got a call from a call center, but since I wasn't at home my answering machine caught it.
But instead of just leaving a note or hanging up, the saleswoman apparently forgot that she still had a call on her phone/headset/whatever and began talking to her fellows in the call center while my answering machine was still listening.
I don't remember most of the details of their conversation, but a few things are still present:
- The IQ of the girl was near room temperature (measured in celsius of course), and her colleagues didn't seem to be much smarter as well.
- They used to have internet access while talking on the phone, but this seems to have vanished. (Figuring that a salesperson is buying latex undies on eBay while selling life insurances to me on the phone doesn't sound very appealing.)
- The noise level in their cube farm is too high for the girl. Huh, why don't you stop gaggling with your colleagues then? This might decrease the level drastically.
- Hey folks: if your customers knew that you were mocking their voices from the answering machine announcements, your business would be in serious trouble. (I doubt that they mocked my announcement, because it's so brilliant.)
