James Duncan Davidson does a pretty good job in verbalizing my feelings about the U.S. presidential election:
I'm not sure I'll be able to sleep tonight. I just want to wander the streets and periodically yell "FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" at the top of my lungs.
Even more than a day after John Kerry gave in, it is pretty much unbelievable from outside of the United States that people can arrange with their conscience for voting for Bush. He not only successfully managed to destroy America's reputation in most parts of Europe, but he also impaired his land's economic power massively, vehemently rejects to sign the Kyoto Protocol, dismisses gay marriage and abortion, forms more alliances with ultraconservative priests than with human rights organisations, is a war monger par excellence, yadda-yadda-yadda. What else does one need to do to get chased away from the oval office? I mean, people wanted to lynch Bill Clinton for having no sexual relationship with his intern.
Anybody care to explain?
Update: Jason Kottke provides some smart insight.
